National Park Trails

In line with the Government’s COVID19 restrictions,  the grounds of the National Park remain open to visitors in Co. Mayo or within 20km, which ever distance is greater.

The Ballycroy Visitor Centre still remains CLOSED including the cafe and toilets. All car parks have re-opened today, June 8th.

We would like to inform visitors that there is a one way system for walking the trails, which must be followed for physical distancing purposes. See maps below.

You are very welcome to walk the trails if you are living within the limits of the current travel restrictions. If you are going to walk to venture futher into the National Park, please bear in mind the extra pressures on emergency personnel at this time. Following the advice from Mayo Mountain Rescue Team is vital at this time. You can keep mountain rescue team members safe if you take time to consider and plan before going into the outdoors. Consider the risk, assess and plan. Pick a low risk walking option.

See links below to download a pdf of the one way system for the trails for the different locations.
