Letterkeen Historical Walk

Ballycroy National Park visitor centre is pleased to announce the Letterkeen local knowledge walk with Michael Chambers.

Date: Wednesday the 16th of August 2017.

Starting from the Brogan Carroll Bothy.

Time start 1:30 pm. The walk will last 3-4 hours.

Length: 6 km easy to moderate walk, with a focus on local knowledge.


It will start from the Brogan Carroll Bothy in Letterkeen (approx. 10 km from Newport) and involve an walk/hike  of approximately  6 km. The walk is not suitable for children.


We will travel over somewhat rough terrain so suitable footwear is essential. It is recommended to bring rainproof clothing, a light snack and water. No dogs. The walk will be over rough and uneven terrain in parts, so may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.


In order to take part in the walk anyone interested must contact the Ballycroy Visitor Centre to register as places are limited.
